In October of 2008, after initially meeting with CCP and consequently conducting a thorough operational assessment of their practice, we learned that they were a “Medical Manager” client with an in-house billing staff of 4, who were all overwhelmed and "maxed out," and feeling the need to hire on 2 additional billers. It was evident to us that follow through, among other billing inefficiencies were prevalent and vast improvements were required.
CCP's cost of billing (in-house) was exorbitant and PMDS was able to make a determination and implement the necessary changes to significantly reduce this cost by 3%. The first three months proved to be very successful. PMDS conducted routine audits on the doctors’ coding practices, which not only helped CCP to develop strategies to improve their coding procedure, but also reveal “lost charges” of frequently ordered tests which were not being captured. In addition, PMDS’s aggressive collections department was able to work on aged accounts, something the CCP doctors had absolutely no time for. Now Central Coast Pediatrics accounts receivable and aged accounts better reflect “best practice” standards. So, as PMDS worked with CCP and continued to streamline the efficiencies and customize the billing process, CCP immediately began to see decreases in overhead expense and increase in revenue!
Having allowed CCP this valuable time for stabilization of the practice and adaptation of PMDS, we began the next step in the process: the adoption and conversion of new software.
Because of Pacific Medical Data Solutions’ extensive knowledge and past experience implementing these programs, we were able to help and guide CCP and their staff through the entire process, accommodating a very smooth transition while maintaining steady income throughout. If CCP had elected to take this project on by themselves, they would have lost considerable time and money. PMDS started this conversion process for CCP in October of 2008. By June of 2009, having now converted to the Intergy product for Practice Management, CCP was now enjoying a 15% increase in revenue. Then in August of 2009, again under the direction of PMDS, CCP began EHR adoption as well, successfully achieving full implementation of the process by October 2009!
So, in one year's time, PMDS was able to effectively guide CCP through the entire evolution while saving them 15% on the bottom end and making the practice 12% -15% more on the top end equating to a 30% increase in revenue for their practice annually!

Pediatric Medical Group came to Pacific Medical Data Solutions in crisis mode regarding their in-house billing staff.
